Rangers 3-3 Hibernian: Angie Hind praises ladies character
RANGERS Ladies extended their unbeaten run to seven games last night with a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hibernian at Garscube Park. With two points separating the teams before the match, a win for Rangers would’ve seen them move above second place Hibs however the draw keeps them in a solid third position with three league games remaining before the League split.
“We found ourselves 2-0 up but
to be honest I felt we hadn’t really got started," said Rangers Ladies manager Angie Hind. "Two defensive errors
allowed them back into the game and although we were disappointed to
be tied at half time I have to say that was probably fair on Hibs as I
felt they were the stronger team in that period.
"We were better in the
second half, and towards the end were really pushing for the winner which
I think shows great character given that we had been 3-2 down after
giving up an early 2-0 lead.
"It shows how well we are progressing to be
able to be competing with the top teams. We will continue to improve.”

Hibernian 0-4 Glasgow City: City continue 100% record
GLASGOW City maintained their 100% record after a convincing 4-0 victory over second place Hibernian.
With the two sides having scored 78 goals between them since the start of the season, it was hotly tipped to be the match of the season so far - and it did not disappoint.
City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black said that despite the scoreline, the Hibees had been their most difficult opponent so far.
He said: “I said it would be a really competitive match and it was. I thought [the scoreline] was a bit harsh on Hibs, they are as good as we’ve played this season. They’ve got a lot of energy and good talent so obviously we were pleased to come away with three points.”
Glasgow City's Nicola Doherty leaves her marker in her wake
Both teams had early chances with Hibernian coming closest when Lizzie Arnott took advantage of a poor pass by Glasgow City on the edge of the area but her shot was blocked by keeper Alexander.
Only 15 minutes in and we were treated to our first goal. Leanne Ross floated in a lovely free kick about thirty yards out and Suzanne Lappin headed the ball in from close range.
Kilwinning Ladies U15s into the League Cup semi-final
HAMILTON Accies U15s slipped to a 3-1 defeat in the League Cup this weekend, despite a strong performance and quick equaliser from the team.
Despite a great solo effort to score Accies’ only goal from Rhiannan Brown, it wasn’t enough to go forward in the cup, however, coach Jen King believes the girls deserved more.
She said: “I am very proud of the girls’ performance against a very strong Kilwinning team. The effort and application that they showed throughout the game was a different class and on effort they deserved more from the game. Most pleasing for me is seeing how far the girls have come and how well they are developing as individuals and as a team. We are having a great season so far and with hard work, long may it continue.”
The visitors tested Accies early on in the match, as they pushed forward well and came close in the first minute, however, a foul on keeper Emily Ferguson saw a free kick given to Hamilton.

"All credit to Buchan though, as they done well to get the three points, but overall disappointed.”
Rangers 3-0 Hutchison Vale: 'Gers post another win
RANGERS continued their impressive six game unbeaten run in the Scottish Women's Premier League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Hutchie Vale.
Pleased with another good team performance, Head Coach Angie Hind reflected on the game.
She said: “It
was a solid win today and a good team performance. We changed our shape
a little to suit the qualities we have in the team and I think we did
some really good things. Another clean sheet and goals from our midfield
are pleasing too.”
Rangers began in dominant fashion with a lot of possession and what was clearly an attacking formation. The first real chance of the game came after ten minutes, Lisa Swanson picked up the ball in midfield and her pass fell nicely to set Hayley Cunningham up for the shot. Her attempt was parried off the bar by the Hutchison Vale ‘Keeper.
Rachel Corsie: Dealing with a long term injury
Seven months ago virtually to the day, was the unforgettable disappointment of the defeat to Spain in the dying seconds of the second leg of the play-offs for the Women’s Euro Finals 2013.
After taking a tricky but optimistic 1-1 draw from the home game, held at Hampden the week previous, the final country to reach the finals was to be decided on the night in Madrid.
However, late in the second half, whilst the game was tied at 1-1 (2-2 AGG) and heading for extra-time a cynical and tired tackle on Spain’s number 10 led to an unforgiving outcome. The realisation that I had hurt my knee badly was evident.
Despite this, my team mates back home have since joked that they thought I was feigning injury to avoid the inevitable booking that was to follow. Sadly, my finely mastered ‘tricks of the trade’ were not being utilised in this instance – good to know though that my reputation of falling to the ground easily is so highly regarded.
Anyway, as expected, my evening was over and the extent of injury was left unknown as I was stretchered off and carried to the changing rooms – where I was put in a brace and crutches.
