Kilmarnock's David Silva was ready for pens in Ayr battle
Silva came off the bench in the 78th minute of a titanic cup battle between the Ayrshire rivals in the Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final.
With just four minutes left of extra-time it looked like the tie would be settled by penalties before Dean Shiels found the winner.
Talking to The Away End after the game, Silva said he always had faith the goal was coming.
He said: "I like to take penalties, so of course I would have taken one, but I was always confident one of the boys was going to score.
"Ayr were really good, they defended well. They were stopping us playing our football; we were creating chances and the goal was not coming.
"The goalkeeper had a brilliant game aswell. But I was not worried, I knew the goal would come."

"He was telling us to keep it going, keep it going," said Silva. "The goal was going to show up at some point, and to be calm and relaxed."
He added: "It's a great feeling to be in the final, and everybody's happy, everybody's feeling good. Now we just have to wait for the game and think about the championship, because we still have a couple of games to play before the final.
"It's a great pitch [Hampden]. It's really really big area. And it's great for the fans aswell, we can take a lot of people in here so it's a great feeling to play here."
Falkirk or Celtic await in the final, and asked who he wanted to face Silva said it didn't matter for they are set for a tough encounter whoever the opponent is.
"I don't know, I think it's a tough game," he said. "Both teams are really good.
"We played against Ayr who are in a lower division but they showed that it's really hard to play against the lower divisions aswell. So we will just have to sit and relax and watch the game and we will see."
