Celtic travel to Tynecastle this evening looking to maintain an impressive unbeaten run. However, a trip to Gorgie more often than not leads to a tough 90 minutes for the Hoops.

A stunning strike from Victor Wanyama and a late penalty save from Fraser Forster ensured Celtic escaped with all three points. This was the Kenya man’s first goal for Celtic and it couldn’t have been much better. He buried it in the top corner from outside the box and left keeper Marían Kello stunned in the Hearts goal. Celtic had the better of the chances particularly in the first half but almost dropped two points when Hearts were awarded a penalty for a Wanyama foul in the last minute. Eggert Jónsson took the spot kick but had it brilliantly saved by Forster.

Hearts 2-0 Celtic 2/10/2011
Goals from Rudi Skacel and Ryan Stevenson gave Hearts a 2-0 win over the Glasgow side. Celtic had almost twice the number of chances but couldn’t make them count. Hearts dominated the early stages of this match but Celtic looked the better side in the early stages of the second half until Skacel fired the home side in front on 58 minutes. Celtic finished the game with ten men after Kris Commons was given a straight red for a tackle on Adrian Mrowiec in the second half. Commons first start since August 21st ending in despair and the third time in a row Celtic were reduced to ten men at Tynecastle. Ryan Stevenson’s strike secured victory for the Jambos ten minutes from time.
Hearts 0-3 Celtic 11/5/2011
Celtic’s 3-0 victory was overshadowed by off the field matters as Neil Lennon was attacked in the dugout by a Hearts fan. A Gary Hooper double put Celtic 2-0 up before Kris Commons secured victory with a third goal twelve minutes from time. Commons’ celebration with the Celtic support saw him receive a second yellow minutes after getting his first for a dive. Hearts also finished the game with ten men as David Obua was given a straight red after an off the ball incident with Charlie Mulgrew in the first half. The result meant that the race for the league title would go to the last game of the season. Hearts had already secured third position prior to the match.
Celtic 4-0 Hearts 26/1/2011
Hearts were on the wrong end of a 4-0 thrashing as Celtic ran out comfortable winners. The Edinburgh side were on a good run of form and had gone eleven games undefeated in the SPL and had beaten Rangers 1-0 just four days prior to this match. Celtic too were on a good run and hadn’t lost a game since their defeat at Tynecastle two months previously. James Forrest opened the scoring on seven minutes and a second half double by Anthony Stokes and strike from Paddy McCourt increased their advantage. The Edinburgh side did not hit one shot on target all game. It was a heated affair full of incident which saw referee Euan Norris produce seven yellow cards but no reds. Celtic were five points clear at the top after this result while Hearts sat five behind second place Rangers.
Hearts 2-0 Celtic 10/11/2010
A man of the match performance by David Templeton helped Hearts to a 2-0 victory to give them only their second home win of the campaign. Ian Black opened the scoring on 29 minutes after his strike took a deflection off Dan Majstorovic into the Celtic goal. Ten minutes into the second half Joe Ledley was given a straight red for a two foot tackle on the goal scorer Black. David Templeton scored the home side’s second after a great cross from Rudi Skacel. Celtic had a couple of chances but couldn’t find the net despite putting nine goals past Aberdeen just four days previously. This match saw Neil Lennon sent to the stands over his protests at Celtic being denied a penalty. Hearts victory left them in fourth position two points behind Motherwell while Celtic were one point off leaders Rangers.
